I spent a lot of time learning photoshop, practising it and trying to make a name for myself, and to a point i succeeded - but that was a few years ago and i really haven't been on the scene that much lately. This is due to a number of things; I found out i had diabetes, lots of denial about that and hiding my head under the proverbial pillow
fast forward a bit then some members of my family died. first my grandad, then my maternal aunt, then my paternal aunt, all in a few years (old age, cancer, cancer) i felt depressed and found it hard to get back into the mind of doing horror art. In between my 1st and 2nd aunt dying another health problem emerged. I woke up one morning and my right leg hurt, i thought it was cramp and spent about a month trying to live with it, eventually i went to the doctors and he told me i had a suspected DVT. On to blood thinners and off for a scan, came back negative which was great, but the pain remained. Eventually i was sent for an xray and was told my ankle was broken and the diabetes had effected the nerves in my feet and legs, so i just wasn't feeling the pain as i should, they then told me i had a condition called Charcot where the bones go soft like jelly. i was put into an air cast and wore it for about a year, eventually they took it of and told me the Charcot was deactivated - but my ankle was messed up so much it hurts all the time and i have no movement in it, i have to use crutches to walk and take handfull's of painkillers every day. my foot is wonkey, hard to walk on - think of writing with a broken biro where it keeps bending
Fast forward to last February, i wake up one morning and see a blister on my left foot, being a good boy i go to the doctors and get it looked at, i'm given anti-biotics and told to keep an eye on it - a couple of weeks later its not healed and looks nasty - i go to the doctors and am told its turned into a ulcer - they keep giving me anti-biotice but it doesnt get any better, in the mean time my calf is getting so painful none of my pain killers were even touching it. so back to the hospital again for another DVT scan - negative again - phew!! but they dont know whats wrong and why my foot wont heal. A podiatrist looks at it and starts pulling out lumps of bone - thank god i'm numb. I'm sent to the hosptial and given an xray - the bone in my little toe is badly fragmented and must have broken loads of times, not that i knew this and kept walking on it. the bone then moved through my skin and made the blister / ulcer. the only option is to remove the bone, the ulcer and my little toe. six months after the operation the wound finally heals.
So all in all i've had a bit of a time with it - but now i want to get back onto my feet and any support and help people give me is gratefully received
